I'm pleased to say that 2025 - at the moment - is a far better year for me.
I arranged with my computer man, Jason, to put 'Joseph' on Amazon as print on demand. He had no sooner completed this than I had so many orders for the paper copies of 'Yannis' that I had none left in stock. I had to ask Jason to tackle that one. He was meticulous in his work on both books ensuring that when completed by Amazon they looked exactly like my original books. I ordered copies of both titles and was completely satisfied. Jason had done a fantastic job. He is now looking into me making audio books.
My friend who visits Elounda with me asked if we could go in May this year as she was expecting to be away during September visiting her daughter. We stayed at Milos apartments again and our 'holiday' was quite an experience! The first morning we were woken by a tsunami warning as there had been an earthquake some miles off shore. Fortunately it did not happen. That weekend there was such a gale blowing that we did not think we would be able to stand up against it so spent the day up at Milos.
The following week we were woken by an earthquake. The noise was horrendous, but once again it was some miles off shore and only a few of the very old buildings suffered any damage. Then the sand from the Sahara blew over making everywhere horrible. Our lovely ladies at Milos had cleaned our balcony by the time we returned that day, although it was not a scheduled cleaning day.
Despite these events we enjoyed going out and meeting our friends who live in the area. As one of them remarked - "if Crete had a volcano it would probably have erupted whilst we were there this time." We would have liked the weather to have been warmer, but when the sun did come out it was wonderful.
Of course, once back home there was a lot of work to catch up on and then my friend and I made a big decision. She was no longer visiting her daughter and said she would like to visit Elounda again in September. I managed to speak to George and book our usual apartment and then I tried to book our flights. I spent most of the day trying to pay for Easyjet and it kept asking me to reset my password. Finally I gave up and went to the Flight Centre and a lady in there booked everything for me and also confirmed that there had been a fault the previous day on the Easyjet site.
Now we have something to look forward to - with some better weather we hope - and we will be able to see all our friends again.
